Rangoli East Indian Kitchen + Bar is an Indian restaurant located in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team.

Hours: 30–40 hours per week
Start date: As soon as possible
Schedule: Morning, day, evening, early morning, weekends, shifts, and flexible hours

Job duties

• Coordinate special events and food-service requirements

• Determine food portions and calculate food costs

• Plan menus and estimate food requirements

• Prepare and cook complete meals, Indian dishes, and individual food items

• Prepare meals for customers with food allergies or intolerances

• Inspect kitchen and food-service areas

• Order kitchen supplies and equipment

• Maintain food, supply, and equipment inventories and records

• Clean kitchen and work areas

• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures

Requirements

• Secondary school graduation certificate

• 1–2 years of commercial Indian cooking experience

• Experience working in a restaurant kitchen

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends

• Food-allergy awareness and safe food-preparation practices
