Job Location: Various locations in the Calgary region.

Wage: $24.01-$28/hour (based on skills and experience, Salary increase as per company policy).

Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal Employment, Full-time, 40 to 72 hours per week (hours are weather-dependent), Overtime, Early morning, Morning, Day, Weekend

Job requirements:

Language: Basic English

Experience: 2 years of related experience

Worksite environment: Outdoors, Noisy, All weather conditions

Work setting: Landscape contractor

Landscaping experience: Commercial and/or industrial construction, Residential projects, Parks & recreation sites, Sports field

Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Gloves

Type of Equipment Operated: Skidsteer, Small engine equipment

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Able to work long hours (8-12 hours/day, 5-6 days/week), Attention to detail, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads (Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)), Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Ability to distinguish between colours, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Standing for extended periods, Ability to work independently

Area of Specialization: Landscape construction

Construction specialization: Fieldstone paths, Interlocking brick, Ornamental ponds, fountains, and waterfalls, Retaining walls, Rock gardens, Irrigation and drainage, Paving stone patios and walkways, Pergolas and other woodwork features; Wood, steel, and chain-link fences

Duties:

• Plan and construct landscaped environments which may include trees, shrubberies, lawns, fences, decks, patios, and other landscape structures

• Tree removal

• Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements

• May perform snow removal duties as needed during snowstorms and other weather events

• Plant and move trees

• Operate skid steers

• Understand and follow the Landform Safety Program

• Be equipped and able to work in all weather conditions
