• Various sites throughout Calgary, AB; employees are required to report to the office before being transported to worksites by employer.

• Free parking available

Wage: $23/hour (salary increases as per company policy)

Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal employment, Full-time, 40 to 50 hours per week (weather-dependent), Early Morning, Morning, Days, Evening, Weekends, Overtime, Night

Job requirements:

Language: Basic English

Experience: 1 year of related experience

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg (50 lbs), Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Repetitive tasks, combination of sitting, standing, walking, Ability to distinguish between colours, Fast paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Hand-eye co-ordination

Equipment used: Hand Tools, Weed trimmer, Sod cutter, Roto-tiller, Chain saw, Small engine equipment

Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Work in all kinds of weather, Dusty

Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Setting: Rural, Urban, Landscape maintenance, Residential, Commercial, Landscape contractor

Duties:

• Assist with landscaping and grounds maintenance projects

• Weed, prune, trim, and maintain trees, shrubs, and plants

• Cart and spread topsoil and other materials

• Tie and secure plants

• Cut grass, rake, and remove litter, debris, or refuse

• Lay sod or seed, and plant flowers, shrubs, bulbs, and trees

• Water and maintain lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas

• Transport materials using hand tools and manual lifting

• Prepare and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment

• Build patios, garden walls, rock gardens and other decorative installations

• Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways, driveways, parking areas, and other outdoor areas

• Complete basic daily reports on tasks performed
