• $40/hour, increases based on skills and experience; option to work as an independent contractor is also available, with a wage of up to $55/hour

Job requirements:

Language: English

Education: High School or equivalent

Experience: 5 years of related experience

Work Setting: Residential, Commercial, Construction, Renovation, Custom Work, Assembly

Work Site Environment: Noisy, Dusty, Outdoors

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, Crouching, Kneeling, Handling heavy loads (Up to 45 kg (100 lbs))

Personal suitability: Team player, Judgement, Reliable , Accurate, Dependability, Excellent oral communication, Flexibility, Organized, Efficient interpersonal skills

Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Supervision: 1-2 people

Security and Safety: Drug and Alcohol Test

Duties:

• Lead and coordinate the framing crew on-site

• Frame walls, floors, and roof systems per blueprints and specs

• Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings accurately

• Must be able to independently build a house from drawings, materials, and equipment

• Train or arrange and oversee apprenticeship training

• Recommend measures to improve productivity

• Supervise workers and/or contractors, and projects, to keep the job on schedule

• Measure, cut, and assemble lumber and building materials

• Install sheathing, trusses, joists, and structural components

• Perform same duties as workers supervised

• Work safely with power tools (nail guns, saws, etc.)

• Liaise with site supervisor and other trades to ensure smooth progress

• Maintain a clean, safe job site and enforce safety practices are followed
