Work location: Based at 260131 Range Road 280 Delacour, AB T0M 0T0, with travel to various sites in Calgary and surrounding areas.

Terms and conditions of employment: Seasonal, full-time (40 to 60 hours/week, weather dependent); Overtime, Morning, Day, Weekend

Salary: $25/hour (based on skills/experience); salary increase and bonus based on performance

Job requirements:

Language: Basic English

Experience: 2 years of related experience

Work site environment: Outdoors, Dangerous, Noisy, All weather conditions

Work Setting: Landscape Contractor, Roads and Highways, Government

Landscaping Experience: Residential projects, Commercial and/or industrial construction, Institutional construction, Park and recreation sites, Cemetery or crematorium, Sports field

Construction Specialization: Interlocking brick, Retaining walls, Rock gardens, Fieldstone paths, Stone garden walls, Landscape construction

Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Personal suitability: Organized, Reliability, Team player, Punctuality

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail, Repetitive tasks, Ability to work independently, Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads (up to 45 kg/100 lbs), Manual dexterity, Ability to distinguish between colours, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Duties:

• Construct landscaped environments which may include trees, shrubberies, lawns, fences, decks, patios and other landscape structures.

• Tree removal

• Construction of retaining walls for various landscape environments, including shoveling and digging trenches, cutting and installation of geotextile material, block cutting, stacking wall blocks, etc.

• Level earth to fine grade specifications

• Laying of stones for walkways and patios, including raking gravel, leveling areas, cutting paving stones, compacting of soil, etc.
