Position Title: Dairy Herdsperson

Job Description:
The Herdsperson is responsible for the daily care, health, welfare, and productivity of the dairy herd and youngstock program. This role reports to the Farm Manager and supports herd management, calf care, milk quality, facility maintenance, and record keeping.

Job Duties
• Monitor animal health, welfare, and behaviour.
• Assist with calving, treatments, vaccinations, and herd health protocols.
• Perform milking procedures and maintain milk quality standards.
• Oversee calf feeding, housing cleanliness, and youngstock care.
• Maintain barns, pens, bedding, feed areas, and equipment.
• Keep accurate herd and calf records.
• Assist with employee training and promote safe work practices.
• Perform general farm duties.

Required Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of modern dairy farm experience
• Experience and understanding of modern milking technologies

Terms of Employment: Full time / permanent
Language of work: Proficiency in English to execute tasks and able to take instructions for safe operation of equipment.
Wage: $21 per hour
Hours: 40 -50 per week

Benefit Package: All full-time employees are eligible to partake in the Winners Holstein Health Benefits Plan. This is a 50/50 cost sharing plan that includes medical/dental and vision, among other benefits. Eligible after a 3-month probationary period.
Location of work: Abbotsford, BC.
