Position: Farm Supervisor

Business Location: Lepp Farms Inc., 34042 Townshipline Road, Abbotsford, BC V3G 1R1

Work Location: Abbotsford, BC (primary location) & Osoyoos, BC

Salary: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour based on experience

Benefits: Extended health and dental, life insurance, accidental death and long-term disability. Employees may be eligible for performance-based bonuses based on individual performance and the overall success of the farm's season.

 Hours of Work: 40 - 60 hours per week

Schedule: Mondays through Saturdays. Additional hours are required during peak seasonal times.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to Farm Management, the Farm Supervisor oversees daily operations at Lepp Farms and is primarily responsible for supervising Harvesting Labourers and General Farm Workers. We warmly welcome applications from all qualified individuals, regardless of age, background, or status.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Supervise and coordinate harvesting labourers in the greenhouse, fields and outside production areas. Staff duties include planting, irrigation, monitoring, harvesting, and preparing for the distribution of all fruits and vegetables produced at work locations.

· Oversee workforce coordination to ensure an appropriate staff level is available to meet high and low production needs and order fulfilment.

· Train and supervise new workers in safe handling, planting & harvesting techniques, and greenhouse operations.

· Supervise maintenance of strawberry tunnels, sweet corn fields, and farm equipment

· Manage staff recruitment and performance evaluations to ensure a motivated and productive team.

· Ensure farm safety and food safety programs are followed

· Operate and maintain farm equipment

· Perform general farm duties

 

Qualifications & Experience:

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in agriculture/greenhouse operations.

· Practical experience with crop planting, irrigation systems, and seasonal planting.

· Ability to lead teams, manage performance, and foster a positive work environment.

· Ability to operate light vehicles and small equipment safely and responsibly.

· Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

 

Key Competencies & Skills:

· Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

· Strong communication skills for collaborating with farm management and staff members.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Work Environment:

· This position involves both indoor and outdoor work, including greenhouse, field, and nursery settings in varying weather conditions.

· Work includes weekends and extended hours during peak growing seasons.

· Ability to perform physical tasks and moderate lifting is required.
